The ProCare Charitable Foundation is delighted to announce Dr Peter Didsbury as the new Chair of the Board, with his role effective from 1 February.
ProCare Foundation Acting Chair, Alister Lawrence, says: “We are thrilled to have someone of Dr Peter’s calibre join the ProCare Foundation Board. He has been actively involved in the ProCare network for some time, being a founding director and a longtime Clinical Director of ProCare. Previously he has been Chair of the ProCare Health Board, and has recently retired from the Clendon Medical Centre where he had worked for many years.
“We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to June McCabe, our founding Chair of the ProCare Foundation Board, who stepped down last year after serving on the Board for 10 years. Under her leadership we saw the Foundation flourish and help hundreds of whānau across Tāmaki Makaurau. We wish her well in her future endeavours,” concludes Lawrence.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr Peter Didsbury says, “It’s a privilege to be appointed as Chair of the ProCare Foundation. In my role as a GP, I’ve seen first-hand the effects that poor housing, unemployment and other environmental factors have on the health of our community.
“This is a very special opportunity to provide funding to organisations who are supporting our most vulnerable whānau. I’m looking forward to continuing the important mahi and playing a part in supporting organisations who have the health and wellbeing of our community at the centre of what they do,” concludes Didsbury.
The Foundation was established by the shareholders of ProCare Health Limited in 2013 with Trustee and Administration services being provided by Public Trust.
Since the establishment of the ProCare Charitable Foundation, it has granted over $2 million in funding to increase community health and wellbeing in the Greater Auckland Region.
