Witeri Williams, iwi Tapuika, joins the ProCare Equity team as Senior Advisor – Māori Health.
“With the largest enrolled Māori population in Tāmaki Makaurau we’re really excited to have Witeri on-board in 2020 to drive equity initiatives and programmes", comments ProCare’s head of Equity and Māori Health Outcomes Lance Norman.
“Our comprehensive needs analysis clearly highlights the areas where we need to focus our attention and with a new population health strategy Mr Williams will play a key role in ensuring we begin to shift the dial for our Māori and Pacific people".
Mr Williams said “I’m motivated by the opportunities that exist as part of the largest general practice network in New Zealand, it presents a real opportunity to deliver a progressive agenda for equity and address the health inequities that exist today.”
Mr Williams previously held roles at Waipareira Trust and the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency where he was an integral part of the funding and planning team and data and performance teams over the past six years.
Originally from Te Puke in the Bay of Plenty Mr Williams, a father of four, has called Auckland home for the past six years. He is a Board member of his tribal authority Tapuika and a current member of the Henderson Intermediate School Board of Trustees.
